Women Veterans Half-Day Retreat: Embracing Whole Health Practices and Nourishing the Body and Mind

The Sheridan VA Health Care System is empowering women Veterans to take control of their health and well-being through a free, half-day retreat focused on whole health practices. The program, led by Women Veterans Program Manager Misti Bybee, aims to educate participants on the power of nutrition, regular exercise, and self-care for overall rejuvenation and stress reduction.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Casper Vet Center in Casper, Wyoming, the retreat will feature a healthy cooking class, a forum on meeting the needs of women Veterans, and a yoga session for strength and stress reduction. Bybee emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person and providing opportunities for skill development in areas like cooking and nourishing practices.

The event aligns with VA’s Whole Health approach, which focuses on the entire person and considers the individual’s needs and desires. Bybee and her team are dedicated to promoting holistic care and addressing lifestyle choices that impact women Veterans’ health.

Participants will have the chance to connect with program support and fellow Veterans, sharing their healthcare experiences and discussing what good healthcare means to them. By registering before the May 8 deadline, women Veterans can ensure they have a voice in their healthcare and access valuable resources for improving their well-being.
