A 70-year-old woman from Ohio, Patty Branch, has shared her inspiring story of how starting to exercise in her late 60s transformed her life and health. Branch, who was struggling with chronic health conditions as she neared retirement, decided to make a change after her doctor recommended exercising more.

Initially skeptical and feeling like it might be too late to start, Branch began with walking and gradually increased her activity level. She eventually joined the community fitness program Silver Sneakers, which offers online and in-person fitness classes for adults over 65 at no cost with eligible Medicare plans.

Branch’s dedication to exercise paid off significantly. Within four years, she lost over 50 pounds and saw improvements in her blood sugar levels and overall energy.
